    ammo pouch

    hi,

    would anyone happen to know what type of ammo pouch this is(?)

    it seems to look like a german type but i have no idea.

          redline09 - I agree that it looks like an MP-40 ammo pouch.

          The leather fastening straps look like they were applied in the Balkans or could be post-war Czech.

          If it was fabricated or modified in the former Yugoslavia, this type of pouch would have some appeal to those who collect Balkans War militaria.

          You could probably get more specific information on the item's pedigree from either the International Militaria or Wehrmacht Equipment sections of the Forum. The boys on the Wehrmacht Equipment forum play rough, but they are very knowledgeable.

            I wouldn't classify this as a repro. Many countries used the MP40 after WWII and they produced their own pouches for the mags. In addition to the countries mentioned by TJ Norawy was a heavy user of MP40 and produced their own pouches.
