    Female uniforms

there is a rummer that Viktor's Duty Car has broke down

I'll post these quickly before it is repaired.

My first attempt at piecing together a few female uniforms, all are still incomplete.
Ties and skirts are sill coming in the mail.

Your suggestions, thoughts and criticism will be very helpful.

Prison Rain jacket and cap. Any leads on where I might look for the rest of it??

BDU top , bottom belt and cap. What would you add to this ???

Is this shirt correct?? Tie in the mail. What badges, medals should I add?

Skirt is in the mail. Need to change the ribbon bar, (yes BDU bottoms, no skirt yet, can't be bottomless, this is a family forum )

    Your thoughts please?

Very nice, these Female uniforms are hard to come by, especially complete.

Do you have the Vest for the NVA Uniform. I'm working on a List of Stuff I have.
Also the Protocol Uniforms are hard to find. I'm still looking where I have mine.

            myddrcaps,

Your question was "Is this shirt correct?". The answer is no. They wore small collars as is shown in your picture. For the blouses and the white knit sweaters it was normal to use civilian issue ones as well as issue. As long as they were close it didn't seem to matter except possibly on parade. I'll try and post some pictures of my women's uniforms early next week.
As for the skirt, I have to check. I think there were two types. One with two pleats in the front and one without pleats. I'll get back to you on that.

            Regards,

            Gordon

I was thinking that was the case, the white sweater I got is civilian made by VEB Obertrikotagen. I was looking at photos in a few Armeerundschau magazines and the shoes can be civilian too.

When I get the time I'll scan the female uniforms in my copies of Armeerundschau
and post them in the thread 'DDR uniforms worn by beautiful women' so we can use them for reference.

                  Thanks for the help.

                    myddrcaps,

I have to qualify my comments about the shirt/blouse with the wide collar. There is a white woman's shirt with a wide collar but it doesn't seem to be as big as the one in your photo. I have one of this type of shirt/blouse with a policewoman's uniform in my collection. I'm not finished taking photos yet so I'm not ready to post photos for a day or so. You can see a picture of a woman wearing a shirt/blouse with the collar outside of her uniform on page 109 of Keubke's second book 1949-1990. It could be a normal shirt/blouse worn without a tie. The shirt/blouse is not pictured by itself in the book.

                    Regards,

                    Gordon

The women's shirts had smaller buttons than the male's shirts and of course different sizing. I have some of these in my collection. These shirts are still easy to acquire via ebay (except volksmarine).

It's interesting to see that your unteroffizier uniform has got regular pockets. There are also jackets with 'flap' pockets. I never figured out if these were produced at the same time or that the flap pockets were introduced somewhere later in time.

                        grenzflieger,

My copy of Uniformarten und ihre Trageweise shows tunics with and without pockets so they must have been used concurrently. Unfortunately, my book contains only the photos and not the text explaining what each photo is showing. Photos of these pages will show up later in this thead.

                        Regards,

                        Gordon

Here is the white shirt, I think the 'body form/mannequins' neck is a bit wonky, neither the white or the gray shirt fit well around its neck.

The white shirt has the silver pebbled buttons, thanks for your opinions
