The next piece is strickly a polizei shirt. It does not show up in any other uniformarten that I have seen other than the polizei one. It has an unusually wide collar and is marked MdI G for 1981.

The makers name on the other side of the size label. Also, a picture from the uniformarten of the shirt in wear. This shirt has the standard 17mm buttons and not the women's smaller buttons.

The dress. This light grey dress, with a faint hint of green in the sunlight, was worn by polizei and Grenstruppen women. The NVA wore a much darker grey dress.

The NVA dress. Here in the colour of the navy. There are some noticeable small differences between this dress and the one worn by the polizei. There are buttons halfway up the sleeve so the sleeves can be rolled up and fastened into place. These do not appear on the polizei dresses. The belt buckles of the two dresses are slightly different in design.

Now for the uniformarten pictures. They are self explanatory.

uniformarten 4. Pictured here is the rare wide brimmed woman's hat. I bid on one years ago but haven't seen one for sale since.

                    Thanks Gordon,

Very interesting pictures. I will post mine today to so we can compare and maybe come to some conclusions.

Here is my 'well used' GST cap compared to my VM. When they were both new they would have been the same.
I thought about that too. It's too bad you can see the difference on the picture but I'm sure both are made of a different material.

                        VM Fähnrich

Here is my first female uniform. I'm very lucky to have this one because it's volksmarine and the fact that it's a very complete set in the same size (M76)

The jacket is marked 'P 1962' and it has flaps on the pockets and three buttons. The vest is marked 'H 1962'

I'll post a few scans from my Armee Rundschaus, the first two have the wide collar, or is it just unbuttoned?

Here you can see the greath coat (1962 / L) and the rain coat (1806 / L). It's interesting to see that the raincoat consists a attachable rain hat (see next post).

Trousers with zipper like gordon's post #29 and the rain coat with attachable rain hat.
