Visor cap with EM parade uniform?

I was on www.majorkulow.com and they had convient charts displaying what items would be worn for each type of uniform for non-career or career soldiers or officer. The parade uniform for conscripts chart shows that the visor cap could be worn in place of the steel helmet. Was this ever done? On all those YouTube videos I watch of East German parades I only see officers and Volksmarine officer school candidates do this. If someone could please tell me more about the visor cap being worn on parad eI'd really appreciate it. Because I'd rather wear boots with my visor cap than shoes, it just looks a bit cooler.

Interesting, a good deal of his content looks like articles from the Die Nationale Volksarmee
Journal for the Society of East German Militaria Collectors that were printed in the 1990s.

I should clarify, the charts look like they came out of articles written by Lee Stewart, Editor of Die Nationale Volksarmee. Lee was a stickler for detail and consulted original East German publications as references for his articles. However, as Michael Gallagher will tell you, there were some mistakes and misconceptions in some of these articles.

I wonder how he could make such an error...But just to make sure, for service uniform, air force non-career NCOs wore the visor caps with boots, as well as the web belt and the tunic buttoned up all the way right? Also, would the web belt have been worn on the overcoat (if the overcoat was worn) or would they not have worn a belt on it?

Well, I clicked a random YouTube video and the intro sequence has a variety of uniforms used during a parade, and the NCOs are wearing visor caps, but with black collar tunics and no neckties. I don't know if they're wearing boots; though, it's hard to tell.

I'm not saying it's an error in this particular case, just that there were errors in some of the articles. I'll defer to the uniform experts on this question as It's outside my area of expertise.
