    Thanks for reminding me of this picture from the polizei uniformarten. I've attached a picture below of this "Service uniform for special cases" from my copy of the polizei uniformarten.
    To make sure there is no confusion about our discussion in this thread, this light green coloured, four pocket, gesellschaft tunic is only for polizei. These tunics exist in this design in pale grey with the following arm of service colours;
    Blue - probably for TRAPO; Grey - probably for Straffolzug; Malino - probably for Feuerwehr; but these tunics are not pictured in the uniformarten. I have one of each of these tunics in my collection but none of them have been issued and none have shoulder boards or collar tabs attached.

          Now I know this is an old topic, and my question is not about the jackets that started it, but I thought it a bit too much to open another thread for just this simple question;

            They are wearing double shoulder boards = Offiziersschueler Year 4 on top (or it may be year 3 on this pic, if the photo was taken pre-1987) and Leutnant on the bottom. It was a very common thing to do on the day that you wear promoted to Leutnant. You marched to the ceremony wearing all of the officer regalia but with your fourth year student boards fastened on top of the Leutnant boards and as soon as the ceremony was finished and you were 'excused', then everyone ripped off the student shoulder boards and through them in the year with a huge HURRAY and then the celebrations really started ... well, at least that is how it happened at the OHS.               Ah, thanks for the explaining answer! Thought it had something to do with the 'ripping of' of shoulderboards, but as I am not 'into' VoPo stuff, I didn't even know what the top boards actually were...
