I've only ever seen photos/film of the radios in use by police agencies, not GT or NVA, but they NEVER wore them across the chest like that from what I've seen. The images I've seen from the 1970's show them usually on the left shoulder hanging on the left, but the 1980's they seem to have shifted to the right shoulder and right side.

This is, of course, from the limited images I've encountered. They may have been worn otherwise, both by police and military.

      hi Kartofelpreußer

Many thanks for your reply. This is also my problem, I just can't find a lot of photos to learn from.

      On this German forum :

I found some photos from GT with radio's worn (here the UFT 721) over the shoulder. Not sure though how these radio's were worn most of the time.

Da!, It is only minor points Genossen, a short term of Imprisonment for the crimes would pay for this.

But still good work, this is how we learn, or in the case of Genosse iannima, spend a lot of time in detention for transgressing Dress Regulations.

Interesting pics. What I'm seeing is three distinct methods of wearing, which leads me to believe there may not have been as clear a policy in the military, or it was less strictly enforced. Again, with police usage, the wearing seems to be VERY consistent, with nearly every image from a given time frame showing almost identical conditions.

I started to work on a new Deutsche Volkspolizei DVP mannequin, but still lacking a few items. The coat buttons are not always correct, I need a model 1 M56 helmet, early belt/buckle configuration and collar tabs would be nice... I wouldn't say no for a khaki cap either The mantel is dated III Quartal 1955.

(PS. The PPSh-41 is a deko weapon according local legislation)
