Hi Nico, it is of course possible that somebody had this combination. Do you have any more evidence that this medal was period made? There appear to be an aweful lot of civilian medals about on ebay these days with NVA/MdI mounts .... Cheers, Torsten.

I think you had to be a member/employee of the LPG to get this medal. So, was he with the LPG but also maybe a Kampfgruppen or Feuerwehr member to have worn this medal with the MdI style mounting? Cheers, Torsten.
