    NVA Mantel (?)

I officially stopped collecting/buying stuff because of my personal situation.
I do look at eBay every now and then though to see how the prices develop.
Recently I saw this coat for sale though, and since not many people seemed to bid on it, I placed a bid and I won.

Now this is where I need some help.
I have done some research on the coat myself, and the model itself looks like the model worn by Wehrmacht officers (privately bought).
I did find out the coats were also produced after the war though,
and were also worn by officers and civilians in West-Germany.
The Kragenspiegel look like DGP or Vopo. The have been handsewed on to the coat.
Can anyone give me more information on the coat or the Kragenspiegel?
I received the buttons on the sleeves seperately from the coat. One is hallow (like how the NVA buttons look at the backside). The other seems to be 'filled' with some kind of metal which contained letters or numbers. But it's so rusted it's unreadable.
So what do you make of it?

    On to the pictures:

Imo a coat for civilians made in the fifties / sixties with a pair of collar tabs
added. In Ebay often sold as so called "Gestapo" or "SS" coat.

    Regards

Agree, to me, also the Collars look like West German. Next weekend I'm in Storage again, and can look for them as I think they're Schleswig-Holstein.
The green background is a bit light for EG ones to me. If you ever remove them, show us the Back of them. I'll bet for green or blue plastic.

Thank you for the useful information.
Though I am a bit disappointed, at least this confirms my suspicions.
The Kragenspiegel indeed have a blue-ish, plastic background.

The coat including shipment costed me 35 euro.
There also was (to my surprise) a latest edition Stahlhelm in the package and some kind of Schiffchen. No idea what it is. It is the same model as a GST version, no emblem. 2 metal buttons on both sides.

Maybe I will just grease the leather and wear it in the winter.
Then at least it wasn't completely for nothing.

It is a m56 helmet in mint condition. I will try and sell the coat as what it is. Someone will probably collect these kind of things.

On closer inspection, the stamp inside the jacket reads 194, with the last digit looking like a 6 or perhaps even a 8 or 9.
(Excuse me for the double post, but I can't edit my previous post)

It does seem so... Just seen the advert, and there's already been bid on
There's a person for everything so it seems!
