Crown Jewel Addition to Field Uniform Collection

Hello everyone. I've just recently purchased my first Generals rain camo field uniform. Its "G" dated (1981) and is size SG48. Its in like new condition. The jacket is beautiful, especially with the liner that the generals jackets have. I was a little surprised to find that it had white ink stampings inside, since I've learned here that Generals tunics were devoid of ink stampings. The other thing that surprised me was that the pants don't have the same lining as the jacket. I would have thought that no expense would have been spared for the generals uniforms. It is the crown jewel of my small, but growing, collection of field uniforms. I know have representative examples of the rain camo uniforms from the 60's, 70's and 80's as well as a UTV style set and this Generals set. I also have the black coverall type work uniform as well as the two piece black work uniform and an unidentified od green uniform set. Not that it will ever be for sale, but what is the going rate for a Generals field uniform set with GeneralMajor shoulder boards?

Congratulations! Pictures would be nice. Here is a 1989 version that shows the white stamping. http://cgi.ebay.com/EAST-GERMAN-GENE...item3a6796a6df

They are all marked with a white stamp. From front to rear they are:

            SG 56 1 N (1989)
            G 48 1 I (1982)
G-56 1 G (1981) with pants G-56 1 G which have the same lining as the jacket. The pants are the same as those shown in post #2

No Stamps are only found in Dress Uniforms, The Field ones allway's had them. I still have some in Stock, some of them in the original Plastic Bag. In the Moment, a normal Price for MG Boards is 50 - 60 euros. Uniforms are around 60-80 Euros. Not to talk about the 20 Year old Prices, when I Sold the Boards for 15 Euros (30 Marks).

Nico, How much are the rectangular General Officer arm rank patches going for? There seem to be a lot of these for sale on e-bay.de

I do not know but I suspect that this would be because they can very easily and cheaply be reproduced in Pakistan ... I get emails from embroidery companies there nearly everyday offering me their services ..... Cheers, Torsten.

I get those e-mails too. Persistent aren't they? I have a complete set of all of the rectangular ranks. I have doubles of most of the General ranks and noticed that there are some differences. But I couldn't tell an original from a copy at this point.

I know that they fake them a lot. The original "Lochkarten" Punchcards were bought by somebody I know anf I think she still has them. In the Mid to late 90's, a Dealer from the North ordered the high ranking ones from another Maker, mostly without the Back Loop for the Arm as sew on Patches for the Flight Suits etc. They go for about 5-10 euros. As I paid much more for my originals, I surely have to charge more for them.
BTW: these came from Germany and were made on the original Machines but with new made Cards.

Here are my last issue Marshal rank insignia for the arm (rectangle) and hat (oval). You can see differences in the two sets, especially in the ovals:
