    Radios!

    I was wondering if anyone could fill me in about the U700 radio and what divisions used it?

    I'd also like to show off my latest purchase, a U700 radio (courtesy of Greene Dudely)

    Vopo... I can't say I've seen this photos of this radio in NVA service, but it is some of my NVA handbuchs.

      Many UFT series radios were used by the Grenztruppen.

        I don't suppose we have any historical documents of this?

        Also, the radio has two little prongs on either side, which I'm assuming was for a strap to carry it on the shoulder...Anyone know where I can obtain one such strap?

          Looks like the type of radio that was mostly used by the Volkspolizei and the Grenztruppen, but was probably also used in civilian life in some places ... Cheers, Torsten.

          PS: Are there are any markings or stickers on it?

                even more interesting, somebody scanned in the RFT manual for these radios http://files.homepagemodules.de/b150...92p93577n1.pdf some photos of them in civilian use within the manual. Cheers, Torsten.
