    Officer Academy Badges Pre-1987?

    Hello everyone. I am trying to assemble my Grenztruppen Berlin Officer tunic with some appropriate awards (rank Leutenant/OverLeutenat). I was wondering what awards would be appropriate to wear on a Service tunic?

    Secondly I have a question about the Academy badges. As I have a Civilian degree I would like to show this on my tunic but as the badges were issued between 1987 and 1990 this may limit my tunics length of service. Were there any Academy badges issued prior to 1987 or could Officer graduates be issued the badges even if they had obtained their degrees prior to the first issue (1987)?

        Ein Ernst-Moritz-Arndt ohne NVA, lackiert ab 1987 getragen? Hab ich noch nie gesehen und taucht meines Erachtens auch nicht in der Literatur auf. Zeigst du es bitte näher mit Vorder- und Rückseite? Neu ernannte Ärzte trugen doch ab 1987 das rote Diplom-Abzeichen. Sorry, dass ich in deutsch schreibe, aber dafür reicht mein Englisch nicht. ich werds noch von Google übersetzen lassen.

        A Ernst-Moritz-Arndt without NVA, painted, worn from 1987? I've never seen and I think also does not appear in the literature. Will you show it closer to your front and back? Newly appointed doctors wore but in 1987 the red diploma badge. Sorry that I write in German, but not enough for my English. I make yet translated by Google.

          What is the problem? Up to 86 the badge for 'Militaerpol. Hochschule' was with NVA-Lettering, from 87 it was w/out. Looks as if they were all made the same.
          And the 'normal' badge , issued to every officer from 1987, i.e. everyone who started in Sept 1983 and passed exams in 87 was not red but white with a slim red border.

              Thank's for the replies so far. The pics of all the badges is a big help
              Pity that my regular supplier says that the 1982-1987 NVA Academy badge is rare and hard to get hold of
