    Hat for who?

Can anyone tell me anything about this hat? Specifically what organisation was it for.

    Jon.

    Hi Jon,

It looks to be a forestry official's field cap with an unrelated insignia (GST marksmanship badge, to be exact) attached to it.

Last time I'm going to add photos. I and Ralph have several times requested of posters when initiating this type of thread, to please image the photos.
      Reason?
After the auction is over, the photos are gone and none of the membership have a clue as to what is being discussed.
These types of threads are meaningless to the Forum as a whole if they do not encompass the pictures that illustrate what is being talked about and about which questions are being asked.
So please, image the photos; or ask someone to assist you with imaging the photos.
Everyone knows I am only too willing to assist. Other members also are willing to assist. So there is in my humble opinion , no reason for the photos not to be imaged.

I'm seriously going to consider deleting these type threads in the future if they are absent pics.

      This one is on me.

I agree with Michael. I am also willing to post pictures for those who can not.
The cap is well priced for what appears to be an early DDR Forestry cap made by Emhage. Well worth the price with the makers tag still attached.

            Regards,

            Gordon

I was going to post better pictures when it arrives. It was shipped yesterday.

This is the first time I have been informed, in any way, about this.

Your post presented an opportunity for me to again remind all members of this issue.

                No harm done.

                      jon m,

Thanks for the new pictures. Interesting to note that MUTZENFABRIK BERLIN is Heinrich Roller. What confuses me is the tag on the back of the hat which is marked EMHAGE. I did not know that these two early hat makers were associated in any way.

                      Regards,

                      Gordon

Something odd that I noticed in the 1989 edition of the Berlin (East, of course) phonebook:

                        VEB Berliner Tischlereibedarf, Betriebsteil 05, 1055 Heinrich-Roller-Str. 15
                        Tel.....4 37 37 58

Another oddity in the same edition phonebook:

                          VEB Schuhreparatur Berlin,
                          Sattlerei: 1055 H.-Roller-Str. 15
                          tel. 4 36 00 02
                          4 36 00 24
