    2011 Goal

As mentioned previously, I've been thinking about my collecting plan for this new year. I've already made a list of items that I consider a "priority" to acquire, including allowances for other items that may catch my interest.

However, my major goal this year will be to add reference material to my library, whether it be items like Bartel's or Pickard's reference books or source material like issues of Ausbilder and Armeerundshcau or Militarverlag printed photo books (we call them "coffee table books here in the States).

While I'm no longer new to this forum, I'm still a novice and have much to learn. The veteren collectors have been extremely helpful and always ready to answer my questions, but it's time to cut the umbilical cord and equip myself with the necessary resources to answer my own questions.

    Jkeegan,

That's an admirable goal! My own goal for this year is to put together a non-career NCO panzer diest uniform.....It will be only my second NVA uniform.....

            Ralph,

Should further complications make that goal unattainable, remember that Beethoven's Ninth was not written in one day

I'm willing to share once it's done. But it's slow going and at the moment very rough. My intent is to have something that keeps me from having to dig through a half dozen German reference books everytime I want to look up something specific. I'm trying to do actual photos of badges, patches, shoulder boards and other VM insignia. I didn't even consider uniforms, just too much pain.

One can never have too many reference books!

My goal this year is to fill several holes in my collection. Many uniforms are missing shoulderboards or other insignia such as collar tabs and ribbon bars etc. My goal this year is to finish them off.

My goal...acquire as much DDR items as I can at a great price. Honestly, would like to add a dark collar tunic or two to my collection.

I'm with Mr. Keegan. More books for sure. I've added two more this month and intend to add all of Bartel's books that are not already in my library in the next few weeks. After that, I am going to follow Kevin's suggestion and do up some reference material for myself. I'm already working on something which I hope to post on the forum this weekend. 2011 should be a good year if we add even a little to our knowledge base.

                      Regards,

                      Gordon

                        Genossen,
This Command's quota is to continue to redouble Combat Efficiency, improve Political Perception, increase Scale of Issue and work as an Activist and Agatator in the task of building a Workers Paradise.... just like the last twenty years of this Rezidents interest in this nonsence we all hold dear.... I guess.

                        Hurrah!!,Hurrah!!,Hurrah!!.

I would really like to add an Erich Weinert uniform. Been looking for one for some time; been over-bid on it also some times...

I found a Volksmarine version of the Erich Weinert tunic last January on E-bay. With postage it cost me around $65. But it was well worth the price.

Really? On which ebay did you find that beauty? I usually search all possible categories on ebay.de...but really didn't see that one!
Make sure to post some pics of it :O Think 65 dollars including postage that seems to be some bargain right there! EW uniforms that I followed last months usually went for about 60 euros (what's that in dollars? 70?) excluding shipping...
