Damn, it seems Photobucket automaticly resizes images when they are too large. In this size it's almost impossible to read them.

      A little help here?

I have tried to resize the pictures you have posted, but the original pictures are not of sufficient quality (at least as far as I know from computers)... I would advise you scanned one page at a time (instead of the double page scans) and scan them at a minimum of 300 pixel !

If you can send a nice detailed scan to me, I can host it for people to see in all its glory!

I have an article in the US Army Armor magazine dition NOV-DEC 1994 that describes the NVA and Russian battle plans for the conquest of Berlin. It is 5 pages of information. I will try to get it scanned and post here or emailed out to who has interest. This migh take some time because I will be in Berlin and Seelow next week.

Must be nice. Can you tell I'm just a wee bit jealous?

If and when you do get it scanned or reproduced, I would definitely be interested. You can PM me and we can further discuss.

                Cheers,

What are the gold and silver medals in the bottom right of the photos in posts 11 and 12? They look like the Deutsches Kreuz, only with the DDR Staatswappe instead of the usual cross (or hakenkreuz for TR ones).

I am more of a uniform collector so I know less about medals. What were these awarded for (or should I say intended to be awarded for)?

                          Follow this thread,

It is an excellant example posted very recently by Stefas, of how, for what and to whom these awards were given.

I just returned from my trip to Germany. I took some time to visit the Military Museum in Dresden. The museum is undergoing renovations, so only a small portion of the collection is on display. I took some pictures of the Blucher Orden hoard on display. The original dies for production of these pieces are on display as well. Please excuse the poor quality photographs, it was difficult to deal with the reflections in the glass.
