    EARLY F. Dzierzynski Cufftitle

I was watching a youtube video about the XX anniversary of the MfS, and there's a brief moment where we can see the Felixe regiment (about 2:20-2:35). It must be something previous to 1970, the soldiers wear dark collar tunics, but the strange thing is the cufftitle and the way it is worn: it's obviously not machine sewn but added later, it doesn't actually seem to be sewn at all, but just tight around. What do you think?

The cuff title from the video.

It does seem to tied on there, certainly not factory made. And it seems the rest of the
soldiers in the video don't have a cuff title on. Though its a bit hard to see.

There was discussion on cuffbands that were sewn together and then sewn onto tunics on the forum a month or so ago. I think it was David H who posted some in his collection. First time I had seen them. Perhaps this is what you are loking at here.

Yep looks to be one of the pre-sewn ones, that seems a tad small

And that is also an example of the tunic David_H was showing in gabardine, piped at the cuffs but not at the collar ...
Most interesting... In any case I would suggest that this video indicates that the recorded usage of the cuff-title since 1974 (is it from the Klaus Walther book?) is then definitely wrong. Whether the video of the Felixe Fahneneid is contemporary to the 20th anniversary of the MfS in 1970 is hard to establish. But it HAS to be after 1967, because it is then that the Felixe got their name. And they are ALL wearing dark collar uniforms which points to its having been recorded BEFORE 1974 (otherwise it would not match the 1970 anniversary ), and it has often observed that the Wachregiment conformed to the new dress regulations straight away, particularly on parade. At a guess I would date 1968 or 1969, and they probably had not had the time to sew on all the cuff titles

I think to refill the lines with other Soldiers they used the Pre sewn Titles just to slide them over the Arm.
20 Yrs ago I got a box of them all sewn together with a little Tag with the lenght of the Band. So for a 39 cm Arm with a 39 etc.

Seems like a right explination for the look. But I think we can assume this if a state produced
film. Why would they choose a closeup of a soldier who is wearing a cuff title that is to small?

I think that's one of the mistery's of the Universe what never can be explained, but a Team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this problem.
