Hello all - I just got back from the SOS last night and it was great talking with some old friends and also meeting new friends. I did get around the show, but if you include me, there were only two people with DDR items on tables beyond a box of shoulder boards and a display case of some medals.
I did not take any pictures since I was manning a table most of the time selling some DDR items and talking. Further I talked with the publisher about his newly created magazine International Medal Collector about submitting a couple of short DDR/MfS articles I have already written for submission. Right now it looks good that they will be added in the magazine in the future.
Overall, I wish to have seen more DDR collectors and items out on tables, but I also know that this collecting field is still young and it takes time...hopefully I will see that day...Somebody, after all, had to make a start. Hey Gordon - Overall the weather was on our side this time and I had a good time with friends at the show and nightly dinners.
I sold only a few books this SOS trip compared to the last two years...which is right now slowing down in getting the second volume of stasi decorations printed and out the door this year or even next.
