The tunics are interesting. Can someone explain what they are and when they were issued?
maybe he has permission to wear soft soled shoes? sometimes they allow people to wear athletic shoes if they have a waiver from their commander for some reason.
Genossen, If you watch the skys you may see the report from Genosse iannima's Rezidency ...
Not very funny given that they cancelled my flight and stranded me in London ... will try again tomorrow.
I had not noticed, but I hasten to join you in condemning this hideous crime ...

Genosse iannima, Sorry to hear of these Wreckers who are unlawfully keeping you.
They will be dealt with..
I wonder if the Genosse in the Image is a "Runner"...
They are wearing old Winter FDA, which was just Grey, during the Ãœbergang period of wear.

exactly. he was given Stiefelbefreiung for whatever reason. Cheers, Torsten.
Yeah we do the same thing today in the Army. You can get a "profile" to wear gym shoes with your ACUs. If you have ankle or foot issues. It always looks funny though. Jordan Basketball shoes don't really go with the combat uniform.
I used to see it all the time in basic training. These days most recruits have never worn a pair of boots in their lives until they joined up, because their feet arn't used to boots they get sores or blisters and then need a few days in trainers to recover before going back into the boots.
I wouldn't expect it to be too different a story in the NVA, those boots aren't exactly comfortable.

I regularly used to have very bad blister after the HKX and I got Stiefelbefreiung (a medical note that excused you from having to wear boots) for a week every time after the KKX and I was not the only one. Cheers, Torsten.
Genosse torstenbel,
While under Stiefelbefreiung were your feet investigated for their Traitorious behaviour in regard to laid down Norms or were your Boots arrested for their Wrecking of State Property?...
I do find my DDR running shoes give very little protection to the old " plates of meat" but when your footwear has taken bites from your feet, they must have been a release... thanks for the Gen, Genosse torstenbel.
i gotta say that those DDR "nikeys" arent that half bad in comparison to special modern day running shoes. i kinda enjoy running on them, sorry no pictures availeble of me on my DDR "adidas" in my ASV suit. sorry genosse, i can not provide you with that pleasure
