Karl Marx orden numberd with 1

Hello German collectors, some weeks ago I foud a site with the first Karl Marx orden given to W.Pieck.
It was from a german medal collector site.I can't find it anymore.
It was the medal, document and ausweis given to Pieck.Numbered with one and the award given to Pieck and a signature from Pieck on this award.
I'm sure more collectors would love to see this, ore much better OWN this set.

    Stefas,

This award and the accompanying document are in the collection of the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. Unfortunately, I do not believe they are not on display at this time. I have pictures of them some where and if I can find them I will post them. The DHM has refused to send me a foto of the rear of this medal.

    Regards,

    Gordon

      Hi Vlassio

The Karl-Marx-Orden from Wilhelm Pieck belonges to the DHM in Berlin .
Some things like this KMO belongs to Germany ( also the Parade Cars ) it would be a shame if things like this fall in greedy collector hands .
I have plans to give my entire collection ( for free ) to a german museum when I come to a certain age .
For the collector who has some spare money , there is a KMO for sale from the first series of 30 ( number 22 ) , the other ones ( nr. 31-60 ) are stamped.

      Regards , Johan

        Johan,

Who is offering the KMO for sale? Thanks.

        Jeff Mack

Never mind, I found it at Hans Worbes 3/2009

This may be a really dumb question, but here goes anyway .....

The Karl Marx Order numbered No. 1 that was given to PIECK; If this was awarded to PIECK, why would his "Signature" be on the Certificate?

Shouldn't the Certificate be signed by the person that awarded the Order? Or was this self-awarded?

          I confess I'm a bit confused .....

Michael, I'm glad I wasn't the only person confused by that, just didn't bring it up. I assumed the post meant that Pieck had awarded it to himself... unusual but probably not unprecedented... not sure it's tue, but I heard Reichsmarschall Meyer did as much for himself during WWII.

              Michael,

Interesting question. If you look on the DHM site you will find Piek's Ausweiss and the signature on the document and his signature on the Ausweiss are quite different . It looks like someone else signed his name to the document for the award!

              Regards,

              Gordon

                Hi to all,

                Here are the documents.

On the booklet, you can see that Pieck signature is the recipient's one. And there is an official body "Buro des Presidium des M..." with a signature that awards the Order.

                Cheers.

                    Urkunde.

It is clear that Pieck awards himself this Order, speaking at the 1st person : Ich, mein... Indeed an official body has taken the decision. See 1st line...

Wilhelm Pieck also rewarded himself the VVO in Gold on 7-10-1954

The VVO Certificate was in this book

Are Pieck's KMO docs pictured in color in your book ?
