    Dating a Kalashnikov Bayonet

    and no, I do not want to date one in the sense of taking her out for a meal and then see what happens ... I mean more in the sense of attempting to guess an approximate date of manufacturing ... any chance to do such with this example? Cheers, Torsten.

      I would assume that this number on the scabbard does not mean that it was manufactured in 1946 ..

            Yours appears to be an early MPi-AK-74 bayonet which may have also been used on the MPi-KM on. Accoridng to that thread link I gave you they appeared around 1985.
