Interesting.
Looks like its made out of the the same "rubberized" material that the UTV style gasmask bags were made from. My opinion drifts more toward post-wende production for civilian/fashin sales...but it is a weird size for a handbag.

on my recent trip to Nuremberg, for purposes that are now in the public domain
, I came across this 
in a shop window....
I took a photograph to document this crime against state equipment...
and have forwarded a full report to Moscow Centre... 
It is sad, is it not, to think of all the Zeltbahnen that have died in vain

I got a box of them in 1990 from a BG Depot near Checkpoint Bravo/Berlin.
