If it conforms to these standards:

    Thanks but... No thanks...

I remember Frank Van Gelder trying to sell to me one such bag. I am glad to see that it went to a good home, if it is the same one.

wow...i did not know that any such thing existed in army issue form ... but I guess, it had to be out there somewhere ... does anyone know if these were actually officially issued or if they were only kept in reserve for World War III? Cheers, Torsten.

I love how the bag in is in Strichtarn... for when you just NEED a nice trim while out in the field. It's important to look your best if you're serving on the front line of the cold war, you certainly wouldn't want to embarass the peasants and farmers you protect in front of the western troops.

Uses for the assault pack, like all progressive scales of issue, are endless

I have been looking for one of these! It's a funny NVA collectable! I've seen only one before, I guess there aren't many of these.

I have been looking for one of these for nearly ten years.
I passed one up at the fleamarket in Oldenburg, where I was "stationed" as an exchange student in 1997. Dmark times ahve come and gone...and the guy only wanted 40 marks....a friggin' steal. I asked myself...what the hell am I gonna do with a barber's set from the east german Army. Oh, the follies of youth. The 40 marks was quickly blown on Döner und Becks, but the empty space in my bookshelf cries out for its missing Friseursatz

I have also been "stationed" in Niedersaschen in 1998 as an exchange student, but further East. Needless to say that I spent alot of money on other things than DDR memorablia. Man I regret today that I didn't spend more time on the Flohmärkte.

                    Genossen,
We all have Crimes of this magnitude, the Dock will have to be quite large to hold us all when we have our day in a People's Court.

And I don't want to rub it in, but you know that at least some of these have been used up, partitioned, or otherwise squandered by yahoos who thought it would be a blast to cut their hair the NVA way (not to blame them for the sentiment) and are no more.

What, approximately, would be the value on one of these today?

The auction Iannima has posted was ended...not completed. The buy it now price was 75 Euro which is pretty steep, but seeing that it didn't sell...
Like I always say, a piece is only worth what some poor sap is willing to pay for it.
