Thanks Ralph, I always enjoy when you post a few of your rare treasures. I've been waiting for some the the members across the pond in Europe or even our Canadian or Chineese brothers to do the same.

To keep this thread going here is an illustration of the three Kampforden medals from: Auszeichnungen der Warschauer Pakt Staaten, Teil 1 Auszeichnungen der Deutschen Demokratischen Republic, Stand 1985

          Hi,

I have not noted it before, but the color of the medallion in the middle of the badges is not correct, always in gold! The same mistake is also in the pdf file.

          Regards
          Uwe

Uwe - Sorry to ask this, but I am not sure about your last post. So sorry for my question back to you. Are saying that the color of the medal in the center is incorrect? If it is, could it be just the way it was printed on the paper?

I believe what Uwe means is the color of the metal inside the red enameled medallion should be the same color as the medal. So for the Silver medal, silver and Bronze medal bronze. Only the gold medal in this illustration is correct.

                  Right Kevin,

That is exactly what Uwe is saying. Eagle eyes.

I never noticed this before until now.

Hello all - I have revived this thread back to the top so that some of our newer members can see a older thread discussion from a few years ago. I am also posting a photo of a group of medals that was presented and worn by a former MfS officer.

Thanks Hagen for your comments. The former MfS officer who wore these medals were presented them in 1972, 1978 and 1981.

                                Thanks for your comments.

Including these medals, I also own other medals and documents that were presented to him during his career.

A possbile reason why they were sold may have been because he passed away and the family no longer wanted them.
