    Hey guys I recentally added a Zivilerteidigung uniform to my collection and wanted to get some information on it. Who were they , what did they do, and what other equpiment went with it?

    What kind of uniform ? NVA earthgrey uniform with cufftitle or canvas olive brown uniform with sleeve shield ?

      It's the canvas olive brown uniform with sleeve shield one.

        Genosse,
        They were a State Civil Defence Organ, I have the Grey Green " work" Uniform, also a Hasty Civilian Construction Hard Hat with ZV Insignia and has had a Red Cross painted on it... The Hard Hat has the Protective value of a paper bag.

            I also hold a Female Scale of Issue also, as "if Hell freezes over" my Organ's of State Terror will have something to wear to the Progressive Ball... at a Gig.

              Joe,

              What you have is the second issue ZV uniform for volunteers in the ZV. There was a cadre of full time ZV personnel who wore NVA uniforms with the ZV cuffband as mentioned in an earlier post. If I can find a picture of the other ZV uniforms when I get home I will post them. There were also numerous civilian hard hats worn by the ZV. I am in Ljubljana for the Easter weekend and will not get home before Tuesday.
