GST items - trumpet banner, flag pole top, banner

We don't get to see too many items from the GST, so I thought I'd post the few items I have from this elusive organization. Anyone else have some items to post? I know dallasfan might have seen a GST trumpet banner or two

My curious dog could not resist investigating. She'd join up if she could!

Your right GST stuff, well the good stuff, is elusive when realistically it should be pretty common.

I do particularly like your trumpet banner that is a beauty (incidentally though it is back to front on the trumpet and should tied to the top section).

I do have a few GST bits and bobs, if I can find them, I'll take some pictures.

Having your dog in the shot is very appropriate, as I suspect after the wall came down alot of these flags ended up as dog blankets or worse....

As I recall GST stuff was collectable even before the fall of the wall. When I couldn't find insignia or reference books to buy on my trips into East Berlin I would look for stamps and coins. The first day covers with GST themes always were more difficult to find and cost more than other issues.

Here you go, I've dug a few bits out.
First up an early Flag, note the logo still has the tri colour atop it. I do have a similar age one that has had the tri colour patched over with more laurel leaves to conform to the later regulations, but I can't find it at the mo..

And finally, as I can't find some of the others, a similar trumpet banner to the one posted earlier, although this one is smaller...

                  David,
Thanks for posting your great GST collection. The flags are as beautiful as they are rare.

Can you tell me if your trumpet banner looks the same as mine on the reverse side?

Johan, I like the three size trumpet banners........ There is one that is too small, one that is too big and one that is just right!! I wonder if Goldilocks was in the GST!!!!

                            I love those early plates.....

WOW! Thanks Johan! More beautiful GST stuff! Love it!

Johan, thanks for showing the trumpet banners, especially that nice swallow tail trumpet banner. It is interesting to note that your trumpet banners have fringe only on the bottom and mine and David's have fringe on 3 sides.

Those plates are incredible. They deserve that honored display place in your display cabinet! Fantastic!

One other interesting thing I noticed is a figure similar to a Star of David on the 2nd plate - was this to be a religious symbol do you think? Was religion suppressed or encouraged in the DDR?
