      Well,

This is certainly an interesting uniform.

Aside from the observation I never saw a combination musikkorps and Erich-weinert Ensemble Tunic before, the actual wearing of the swallows nest by Navy personnel also is a surprise.

They actually were produced for the navy Stabsmusikkorps and Standortmusikkorps - but to my knowledge they were never issued and thus never worn.

The Erich-weinert Ensemble cuff band for the navy was produced and was worn - by members of the Erich-weinert Ensemble; and not the musikkorps.

On the reverse cover side of the second edition Militaerische Uniformen in der DDR 1949 - 1990 book by Klaus - Ulrich Keubke and Manfred Kunz is a photo example of the Navy Musikkorps - sans swallows nest.

Why at 890.00 euros its a STEAL!

And I agree with Mike I have never seen a pic of with the swallowsnests with such a tunic.

It's funny you started this topic because I (as a VM/GT collector) came across this uniform too! I can't imagine this uniform to be the real deal. I have never seen this combination before as well. And the price is pretty crazy.

I did not knew this. So there were VM uniforms with a Erich Weinert Cuff title sewn on it? Does anyone have some pics VM uniforms with a EW cufftitle?

          Thanks!

Thanks for the efford David. I'm don't know a lot of the Erich Weinert Ensemble. Did EW-VM officers also have a cuff title? If so, would it be on the same spot? Or would it be situated lower on the sleeve like the bootskompanien (grenztruppen) cuff title on officer uniforms. Thanks!
