    is the sweatband vinyl or leather? I believe this is one of the give-aways.

        Frank,

        The cap badge looks strange on the sdies but that could just be the photo. I am always suspicious of caps with a loose lining. Especially if it is below the cap badge. There are so many of these on the market these days it is hard to say what is real and what is not.

          It's unusual to have the Badge going through the Cap. All I had from official sources were hand sewn to the Cap and the Screw fixed directly on the Cap Badge, holding the fabric. on older Badges the Nut was soldered to the Screw so that you can't remove it.

                  Also Yes. Very good sign to have it Hot Stamped and "Welded" to the Fabric.
                  From M.G. I saw them Stamped, but sewn to the Lining.
