Were any of you watching the auction on E-bay for a Banner der Arbeit II that ended tonight? It sold for $62 + $10 postage? The seller is in Narva, Estonia. See: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330288820502
I considered bidding on it when the price was low, but saw some things that I didn't like.
For example the medal appears to be a 1st Class (Stufe II) while the ribbon bar and certificate are for a 2nd Class (Stufe II) medal. Also the medal has that corroded look that you often see in awards made just before unification. There are also spots at the top of the certificate that appear to be mirror images of each other on each side.
Also I got burnt on a simular 1985 BdA II from a German seller a few years back. It was named to a Stasi officer. The certificate turned out to be a photocopy and the medal was one of these poorly crafted late issue jobs.
