When I was in Strausberg, I saw them also wearing the Peaked Cap.
Sadly it wasn't allowed to take pictures as it was a restricted Area.

Michael and Nico : Thanks for the great information .
I only asked what this outfit would go for , since I got it at the great bargain price of $25 --and could not resist getting it , since I have collected DDR stuff ever from the 'Wende' on .
I also visitted the DDR often , since my Grandparent's hometown was STOLBERG/ HARZ and I spent every summer time there until 1961 , when I came to the US .Even after that I went several times , also to Berlin , before the 'Wende '.
      Thanks again , Bernd

        Hello Doug0,

Nice outfit indeed. I guess you had a barguin because I've seen these outfits on ebay.de go for around 60 euro's (without insignia).

          Bernd,

Very good price for a summer flight suit. Winter ones are more comon for some unknown reason. Unusual to find both the pants and the coat together. FYI while the winter suits were padded there was only the one type of flight boot and it was not insulated.

          Regards,

          Gordon

            Gordon,

              Nico,

Thanks for the info on the boots. I did not know that. Never seen lined ones. Were they DDR or USSR boots? Looking forward to seeing them in the Spring.

              Regards,

              Gordon

                  Nico,

Finding two pairs of boots in your storeroom will be a major feat. I'll set aside one day in the Spring for that search!

                  Regards,

                  Gordon
