Kampfgruppen fuer Hervorragende Kampfbereitschaft with case

I think this is one of the most beautiful Kampfgruppen medals. This even comes with the very scarce and early additional enamel bar.

But what I find rather unusual is the original case that goes with this medal, as it has three indentations for the three needles as well as a vertical indentation for the ring the medal is supended from! I have not seen that on any other medal case.

Does anyone know of other examples with medal cases like this?

    Cheers, Torsten.

Nice to see the whole set for a change, I only seen and have the medal. I like the
            enamel bar.

I have several larger lots of award documents, certs and medals at the moment that include this medal...but this is the only one of these medals that I have that comes in this special award case with the four indentations....Cheers, Torsten.

                Hi Torsten,

That is the first case of that type I have seen. Very interesting.

Hi Michael, the medal and bars fit perfectly in with the indentations, so the case was certainly made for this medal ... they really put some effort into making this case insert...but then they only used the plastic medal box to house it which is a bit of a letdown really ... they could certainly have done with a nice non-plastic hardcase for the box ... Cheers, Torsten.

Hi Uwe, nice hard case for the medal ... does it also have the fourth indentation for the medal suspension ring? Cheers, Torsten.

                        Hi Torsten,

yes, the case is clearly larger than all the other cases for "normal" medals with IS.

Uwe, thanks for the follow up. Could you show a pic of the medal bed in the case showing the indentations?? This is just to kind of compliment the thread .... Gruss, Torsten.

                              Hi Uwe,

My apologies to you. When you posted that medal and medal box (#178) I totally missed the fact it had a third indentation for the older ribbon bar and fourth indentation for the ring from which the five sided ribbon hangs.

                              Wow, that is quite something.

I think I'm going to have to go through my older boxes now and see if by chance some of them have more than just two indentations. This is all very new information to me.

Thanks for resurrecting the older thread and your post on it, Uwe
