    Roy, you asked how common the newer type medals are?

    They are very common and do turn up occasionally. The one's I've seen lately are a bit overpriced, but they can be found and they can be had, with only minimal difficulty.

      Hello all - I would be interested in seeing the award documents that were awarded with with these medals from any of our forum members.

        Nice rare DDR medal!!!!

        Hey Mike G., Nice score with rare DDR medal!!!!! I dont see this such rare DDR medal very often. I would like to have this medal to my collection. I like this DDR medal because the medal is nice even with picture of DDR flag waving from a AK-47 rifle. Anyway, nice addition to your medal collection!!! James
