    Strange GT pic

    Hello,

What's your opinion about this strange border guard? His collar tabs and shoulder boards are white, how can we explain that ?!

Is it possible the "Hue" in this pic is a bit off, and the color in the hat is actually blue? If that were the case, then the chap would be air defense and the uniform would be correct.

In the Air defense, the band is dark brown with blue piping, so it's a GT cap with green band. IMO it's just a bad picture and the piping of the Litzen and shoulderboards is not visible.

In either case the photo could be better.
I've seen this pic before, but can't remember out of which book it came...
Even period printed Photos from the DDR have a strange aged look to them, getting them from a book only compounds the issue.
Either is a possibility here, possible Luftverteidigung, or GT. The lighting obviously makes the Kragenspiegel, Schulterklappen und Litzten pop out more than the color in any of the other insignia and could be the reason for the washed out colors of the Schirmmütze.

Garulfo is correct, the band would be neutral, so clearly GT would be about the only plausible conclusion. It must be a bad picture, or this particular GT Armorer was having a really bad day and put on someone else's uniform .....

I think the Tabs and the Braid are reflecting that much, that you can't see the BOS Colour next to it.
