Paratroopers at the 7 Oct 88 Parade in Berlin

I finally figured out how to convert the VHS video I took of the 7 Oct 88 parade in Berlin to DVD. Also just figured out how to do screen capture in my new computer. Here are an interesting series of photos of what appears to be a short service Para NCO leaving formation and reporting to an officer and NCO. I only have a few second of this on film...I was new at using the camera so I was all over the place with it, I get dizzy just watching the video.

Hi Kevin, nice shots.... that NCO was probably reporting on you doing some 'illegal' espionage type filming of their unit .... and he looks like a big-boy and not-to-be-mess-with ... Cheers, Torsten.

You can't tell it by the stills but he is carrying a red rose in his left hand!

        Proposing then, was he?
        Just kidding of course.

Great pics Kevin. You were quite lucky to be there for the parade. Did you or any friends by chance get still camera shots as well?

Michael - I have a couple dozen still photos that a friend standing next to me took with my camera. But I've decided not to post them on the internet because of the potential for someone to copy them. Here is a cropped version of one that I used on this forum a couple of years ago in answer to a question on wall banners:

Kevin very nice stills from the VHS...

Here are a few more shots of soldiers, airmen and sailors just before they turn the corner to start the parade.

I thought I'd bring this thread back since I just ran across a black & white slide that appears to show the same para NCO in another parade in the rain pattern uniform. This was in a group of slides given to me by a friend who at the time worked in the British 7th Intel Co at Bielefeld.
