I have searched for it here, but haven´t found it yet, so I started a new thread:

Please post pics of your M 1955 KVP-camo, the brown amoeba pattern, which was tested/used before the Flächentarn/Blumentarn.

It would be nice to see pics in use of it, too!

Here are some pics of my amoeba hood that also serves as a bag when buttoned together, the makers stamp is hard to read but it looks like Strome*** Konst*** 1956?...very cool camo.....mike

This looks like unfinished Wehrmacht splinter with amoeba overprint....

sgtdorango's example does not resemble the amoeba camo in the pics in the thread linked by Thälmannpionier.... maybe a the camo hood is prototype of sorts?

I think they are two different camo patterns, if you have the book Waffen SS Camouflage Uniforms and Post War derivitives by Daniel Peterson on pages 53-55 it shows both these camos I think....very good book by the way, so maybe my hood is not the amoeba pattern.?......I would like to learn more on these camos!.....mike

Those hoods are of West German origin. They double as carrier bags for the old Bundeswehr Zeltbahn. Peterson shows an example of it being worn in his Wehrmacht camo book. It is sort of a cross between the Splittermuster and the Leibermuster, and reversible from Spring to Fall. I'm surprised that Genosse Viktor has chosen not to denounce this obvious "inferior capitalist" interloper. Moscow Centre will not look kindly upon his obvious dereliction of duty.

I do have one of these tents and fittings with my Bundeswehr Collection..( Evaluation Purpose only of Course), I rather like it, my Bund Air Gangster Helmet has a Cover made of it... with oddly. SS style loops on it ... No I will not go " into one" over that .... yet...

The posted sample of sgtdorango is indeed a early Bundeswehr camo pattern, not very often seen these days, too. Thank you for showing!
But the KVP-camo pattern is much rarer nowadays.

Very nice pictures.Didn't know that they wear these uniforms even in the NVA???I saw a documentary off the NVA,they where wearing these uniforms in the KVP together with sovjet helmets.
Sometimes they show off in Ebay,the last was about 2 years ago.

Here are some shot of the omeba pattern from my collection. This is a photo of the shelter /rain cape.

The hooded jacket with face net. This design is same as the Russian WWII type smock with large hood and face net. This jacket has a VEB tag in it so it is East German made. The colors are a different shade from the rain cape and other omeba uniform I have.

Here is a complete top and bottom that I purchased many years ago. The top does not have a hood. I could not find where one was attached so this might have been a custom made top. There are no markings or tags in it. While going through the pockets I found an old piece of paper with a German address of a town located in the former East. All of the equipment in the photo is also East German stamped and 1950's dated.
