    NVA button-up pullover?

    Genossen,
    Were button-up pullover sweaters ever an issue item?

    To the best of my knowledge...I'd say no. I am only familiar with the not so flattering v neck pullovers....I did see a zippered Trikot style offered as a possible Falli pullover...but can't confirm its authenticity...
    Anyone else?

      The earlier form of the Falli pullover is buttoned up and not zipped. I have only ever seen one but I had it in my hands and can confirm its authenticity. How early, is hard to tell, I am afraid...

        The Navy also had a Pullover with a Button Flap on the Shoulder.
        There was a knitted blue and a blue/white striped one as I had them about 12 yrs. ago.
        Matteo is right, the early Para ones also had Buttons in the late 50's/early 60's.
        Sorry, I don't know when they changed.

              Hi,
              The reason I ask is that I have one that was purchased as NVA issue. It is a dark "panzer" grey color same as a pair of wool winter gloves I have. Three
              buttons at neck. Tag says Mestri and the size, 50. Any thoughts?

                If by Panzergrau you mean a "pure" (darkish medium) shade of grey with not even a hint of green or blue, I would be inclined to suspect Bundeswehr issue... DDR greys always seem to have a bit of another colour mixed in, despite being all shades of grey. Blue in Customs, green in the NVA.
                The Bundeswehr on the other hand had dress uniforms and a few other items (including a V-neck pullover) in a "pure" shade of grey.
