I just got this mint condition NVA-Kalender 1990 pocket booklet , 192 pages thick .I guess it was printed ahead of the 'Wende ' in 1989 to be given out to the troops at the New Year of 1990 !

Doug, Great find. These were printed well in advance of the new year, my 1990 NVA-Kalender is dated Mai 1989. These usually started showing up in bookstores in East Berlin about 4-6 months before the new year along with larger color NVA wall calenders.

My 1987 NVA-Kalender was my first East German reference and as you can see from the photo it's quite dog eared.
