Next up is a late 70's vintage Vopo NCO tunic with "Betriebsschutz" sleeve patch. The tunic is exactly as I got it from the seller. The ribbon bar seems a bit over the top for an NCO, but I left it on the tunic.

Anyway, this tunic actually had a bandage in the bandage pocket. Of all my Police tunics, only 1 or 2 have had bandage packs.

The other side. The name of the manufacturer is barely legible above "Karl Marx Stadt."

        Looks like "VEB Imbal-Werk".

This was found in a Bergbau tunic. Looks like a cuff title, but I've never seen a Bergbau tunic with a cuff title.

I managed to discover a couple more goodies.

For those of you interested in DDR currency, this 5 Mark note was found in the back pocket of a 1964 dated pair of breeches. The date on the bill is also 1964.

              Here is the obverse.

Still didn't post. We seem to be having some technical difficulties this evening. I'll try again later.

Hi Rev! Yeah I am interested in having this 1964 DDR 5 Mark paper money that you found inside the 1964-dated tunic to add to my currency collection. If you want to part away with this 5 DDR Mark paper money. Please let me know! James

                      Re: breech find

Hey Rev, I put wrong word tunic instead of breech in my previous posting. Sorry for my error!!!

OK, let's try this again. Hopefully this time you will see the obverse of the 5 mark note.

OK, here's the reverse of the 5 Mark note.

Some of you may have seen this on the "Hat Code Help" thread a while back, but I thought I'd post it again here.

Sometimes you don't find personal effects but other interesting bits of evidence that can shed light on other things, such as identifying manufacturers.

This slip of paper was found in a 1980's vintage Navy officer overseas hat I bought years ago, back in the days when there were piles of DDR militaria at every gun show.

The hat itself is unremarkable, but the manufacturer code is 1856. This VEB Perfekt tag was simply stuck inside the hat - not attached in any way. Our friend Jon M has already provided us with the code for VEB Perfekt (1856), but it is evidence like this that probably made such identification possible.
