    Thanks for the latest installment.

Fantastic, Gordon--I wish someone could do such an in-depth thread on the Reichspost.

        Stonemint,

Me to. I don't own any Reichspost uniforms but I have often admired them. Perhaps I should pay more attendtion to adding some to my collection.

        Regards,

            Ralph,

Happy New Year to you to! Interesting photo. The Postal guys in the picture seem to be wearing a DDR Anniversary badge and at least one has been presented with an award. Any idea of the reason for the ceremony or what year the badge was for?

            Regards,

            Gordon

Good morning Gordon - Thanks for your question. The postal employees were presented the MfS anniversary badges and they are in the process of presenting a document to a MfS officer. This photo was taken in 1975.

Found this scan of "Die Deutsche Post" 3/1968 at this web page http://uniformesddr.e-monsite.com/ I thought it might be of interest to this thread.

It raises a few questions in my mind about Deutsche Post and Freiwillige Feuerwehr felt caps. I'll bore you with my questions latter this weekend when I have more time

Looking forward to your comments and a discussion on these caps. No doubt we will all learn a lot in the process.
Very nice web site. Thanks for posting the link to it.

                      Hello,
the scan is from my site and I'm glad to find it on this forum.
For me, the postal service and Feuerwehr women caps seems to be the same. There are similarities between DDR Post and Freiwillige Feuerwehr as men's visor cap insignas which are identical .

First Question I know its a small photo and its in black and white, but to my eyes I don't see a space between the states emblem and the wreath, to me the hat in the photo looks to have an embroidered wreath similar to the one below on the left. I'm thinking it is? Your thoughts?

There are plenty of Freiwillige Feuerwehr felt caps with the embroidered wreath with colored center, but have never seen a felt cap (postal or f/f) with the bottom left wreath and I have been wondering for quite a while if there was such a cap... and finally I see this photo???

The exact same shape of cloth badge as well. It would seem that this badge could be applied to either cap very easily.
I'll try and find time to post a picture of my cap later today.

                            Regards,

                              Myddrcaps,

Thre's some pics of FFW on the site : www.feuerwehr-historie.de. There's one of FFW woman cap like your photo on the right.
I have the same and thought it was a postal service cap. I do rectification.

HI Good looking web site you have made

I'm not saying its not a postal cap, right now I'm just curious about the cap on the cover of "Die Deutsche Post". The embroidered emblem in the photo appears to be different from the one you have on your site. I also have the same cap

Do you own the copy of "Die Deutsche Post"? It would be nice to see a larger scan of it if you do
