    I wish I had...

Hello all - I was going through some other items today in my bunker and I came across these two xerox copies that I have owned for a number of years. And I was thinking that I wish I owned the original documents from Alexander Schalck-Golodkowski and some of other documents that relate to his history in the MfS and as head of the KoKo organization.

Another person who I wish I had additional documents from whose history is tied to the end of East Germany. Günter Schabowski was a member of the SED and in November 1989 annouced in a broadcast that the rules to travel outside of East Germany had been lifted. And as we all know the rest is part of history...

I hope you enjoy the thread...

For all they have problems to read the bad handwriting of Mr. Schabowski:

"Herewith I confirm the authenticity of my personal recordings for the international press conference on 09.11.1989 in Berlin.

                Signature: Günter Schabowski"

Hey Stefas - The copies I own were with another MfS grouping in my collection.

Dirk - Thanks for the translation.
