Yes, That flag was the real deal! It was covered in metalic wire embroidery and It must have weighed about 40 pounds. It felt double that when on the end of a pole. I used to work for Gowenmilitaria and did a fair number of modeling for them as well. I think that he should have used different models just to change it up a bit though. We even got my wife, girlfriend at the time, to model a couple of outfits. Too bad they were a bit dumpy looking on her.

Yes thats right far too young for the uniform. I wondered why an older model wasn't used for the photo. The arms were kinda stubby too. It belonged to some old short, fat, stubby, and crusty General. ChrisComment

I am way into early NVA stuff too. I'll try to get a digital pic of me in my 1957 vintage kit. Its just that my camera isn't working at this time. Yes, the haircut was certainly non period correct for DDR. ChrisComment
