Andy, you should have learned by now what he is trying to do... he is fishing for another opportunity to post that photograph of him being greeted by Heinz Keßler...
Torsten, we probably don't love that photograph as much as you do...(hardly possible ), but we love it nonetheless! So on my account feel free!!

I twisted your arm to convince you... ... Torsten do you keep a record of how many times you manage to post that photograph? I think you should...

By the way, this is 100% OT, but what kind of music was listened to in DDR?
I often wondered about it, but could never find an answer ....

              This was: http://home.pages.at/woody_b/Daten/S...%20Trabant.mp3

              Only kidding. Eh, Torsten?

I could list a few East German bands but perhaps I should let those who actually lived there answer this one.

Oh, and thanks for the compliments guys. (I see no one drilled me for my hair. yet...)

Sharp eye on the FDA Viktor! I should admit that it is not 100% to the scale of norms as it is an officers issue winter one as it came with a light gray fur collar.

As far as I know there was no difference in the FDA itself for officers and men - only that of the different fur collar/rank insignia applied.

                    Surprised

I am a little surprised that no one else has posted any pictures of themselves wearing East German uniforms. I know it isn't that uncommon.

                      Reeaaallllly ?????

Actually, I am too. I happen to know for a fact there are some other reeanctment groups out there, both in England and in the U.S. Perhaps they do not know about this forum, or they simply are not interested. That is unfortunate, as I saw this as an opportunity to welcome additional new members to the fold.

Hmmm...I don't think I could fit into any of them if I tried. How about a photo of me 20 years ago with someone wearing an East German uniform?

Fine, me around Christmas at my parents home. My dad collects Coke memorabilia.
The black box over my eyes is just my way of teasing Kevin.

Shame there aren't more reenactors posting here. Oh well, maybe in time. If I have time, I might try to post a few more with an aim at making them look like they were taken back in the day.

I enjoy this Thread very much Keep it up like that
Unfortunatly, I have the same Problem like Kevin and can't fit in any of my Uniforms. The people must have been much smaller back in the days and with 6Foot4 I have a hard Time to even pull one Sleeve over my Arm
I have not even one Hat that fits me perfectly Up to Size 58 is too small and 60 is already too big. Dammit!!!
