    RE: WAF Militaria e-stand

I wanted to take a moment to talk about one of the benefits of being a member of WAF. Among the many different Forums that collectively, comprise the WAF Forum, there is a section entitled Militaria e-stand.
It is further comprised of several different sub-forums all of which are specific to the sale of collectible military memorabilia by WAF Members, covering several different military interests. Unfortunately, while several subforums are represented on this WAF Sub-site, the DDR Forum is not. Our members presently have to post their items for sale in what is entitled the Internationale Militaria e-stand. Consequently, items that go unsold over a short duration, fall to the bottom.

Recently, we have been able as a collective unit, to accomplish some things I didn't think possible. For example, we were able to my surprise get our own "Wish List" thread. I'm still amazed by this, and I sincerely hope the DDR Forum membership continues to take advantage of this unique opportunity, as we are the only individual forum currently to have this honor.

Now to the point. As earlier noted, many of the other Sub-forums have their own specific site on the Militaria e-stand. This of course is advantageous, as collectors interested in that category of military memorabilia can easily locate it, and go right to it to search for items of interest that are for sale. And as earlier noted, we are currently grouped as a whole, with other Sub-forums in a sub-site entitled Internationale Militaria e-stand.

As we in fact do have members that are using this for the sale of their respective DDR and NVA memorabilia that they are inclined to part with, I felt we might have an opportunity to impact and change the course of history once again.

I propose that if you in fact do have something you wish to sell, that you please first consider posting it on the E-Stand before using ebay or other means. If it doesn't sell, you've not lost anything, but you have gained something. That's right. You've helped contribute to the use of the site, and over time, if enough of us use it, Ralph and I will have reason to request consideration be given to giving us our own E-Stand site under the Militaria e-stand Forum. This of course will make it from that point forward, far more easy to both sell and buy, as well as locate DDR and NVA items of interest that are for sale.

    Just something to consider.

Also, remember to stop in from time to time at this Internationale e-stand, as we do have members posting collectibles for sale. And they are not just cheap throw-away run-of-the-mill articles. If you have not visited in awhile, look. You will be pleasantly surprised. And it is far more easy to conduct a transaction via the E-Stand, than through ebay - and far less expensive too.

Thanks for your continued support and your interest.

If I have something to sell??...I thought there was a limit on how many items an individual members is allowed to post for sale on the estand??? Cheers, Torsten.

      Torsten,

There are rules for the e-stand just as there are rules for the other sub-forums, including the DDR Forum. All I'm saying is, we are growing in size and have many more members. Some may not be aware of this site. The more it is used, the more likely we are to eventually have our own DDR militaria e-stand in the future. Don't use it, and we never will.

Also, your case is a little different (Without going into details). I'm primarily inferring members who do not have ebay or internet auction sites, give consideration to using the WAF site instead of relying on word of mouth, or taking their wares to a military show. They can still do this too of course. This just provides another option.

As for the number of articles that can be posted at any one time, the rules need to be looked to, or Ralph, who moderates the Internationale E-stand can be PM'd.

I know he is going to hate me for this.

Hi Michael, my remark with regard to the maximum numbers allowed to be offered for sale on estand by an individual member was meant to be a joke.... as you know, I have a minimum of 50 East German items auctions on ebay every week and I think that the estand rules would have a problem with me or anyone else offering a minimum of 50 items for sale through the estand every week... Cheers, Torsten.

Hi Torsten, I didn't realise you were joking!

But there is no set limit on how many items one can sell on the E Stand.

However, flooding the E Stand with mutliple threads does cause friction as other peoples threads get pushed down the board. One thread with, say 10, items is fine.

The E Stand is a great place to trade and I am all for greater use of this forum asset.

          Cheers, Ade.

I have been following the International E-Stand and watching it more often and closely than in the past, and have noticed WAF DDR members are in fact transgressing to it, and that it appears it slowly is progressing forward - more use.

Recently some very nice articles have appeared, for prices that are far less than are being asked on ebay.

More importantly, members (I hope they are WAF DDR members) are taking advantage of this unique opportunity and some of the items have sold.

I hope this trend continues in a favorable direction. As previously noted, the desire is to eventually approach the owner of this site and request our own E-Stand thread on our very own WAf - DDR Forum.
