Some Decorations to a Vopo General

Here I have some Decorations to Günter Giel, Generalleutnant der VP.
When I remember right he was also Deputy Minister of the Interior and Ddeputy Chief of the VP.
Sadly, the lot was killed by a money-loving East German who got more for the single Awards as for the lot.
Some more things are coming, like the Award for the following Doc. It was the only one awarded by the MfS with original Mielke Signature.

There were not a lot of VOPO Generals. I have that info somewhere and I'll have to dig it out.

An interesting group. I'll send a picture of the Mongolian Award to a friend who speaks Russian. The last time I was in Vienna I found a book on Mongolian awards and finally decided not to nuy it. Kicking myself now!
Interesting to track the General's promotions. Acording to the Russian award document, he was awarded the Russian 30 Year anniversary of the end of WWII medal when he was a Generalmajor.
