    Gefechtsalarm!!!

Here we have an example of our brave soldiers rushing to defend the Workers' and Farmers' State...

Of particular interest is the way the sling was arranged for storage on the racks: pulled through the knuckleguard as a loop and then this one put around the pistol handle. This is something that can only be done with the DDR sling as the Soviet style one would have a big buckle that would not go through the knuckleguard.

I don't know if there was a regulation for that, but I suspect this was done differently in every unit depending on the Spiess's preferrence...we did not store ours like that. We had the sling kind of pulled up and placed between the rack and the gun...in our Waffenkammer all the racks were around the walls and ammunition was in the centre of the room. Cheers, Torsten.

      Genossen,

Are the Weapon Systems ( MPi) on the Rifle Racks fitted with Folding stocks?, if you look at the image, it looks like you can see though the Butt Stocks.. if so, is it normal to store them so, unfolded ?...

Also not how the Soldat has clipped his waist strap to the oval ring on the shoulder strap... again odd,I wonder if the small D ring is broken, missing... I have torn off a Respirator bag D ring once as I climbed through a window...
