When I said "Dummy" I was referring to firearms that had seen better days and were "modified" so that they would no longer function as actual guns. Such as welding the chamber closed, boring a hole in the chamber, welding the action shut etc..

Were your firing pins also removed?

Nope, the guns were absolute 100% operational... we also had the magazines engaged into the rifles (FAMAS) but no cartridge inside of course ! The guns would be collected 1 or 2 hrs before the parade (approx.) and returned quickly after the end !
