I don't think it is on a level associated with replication of TR III, and suspect at this juncture, it is pretty much relegated to Camoflauge related apparrell. I suspect there is in addtition to the collector market, also a sports - hunting/fishing market for these same articles of clothing, making them a viable product for military clothing and surplus stores, etc.

      high margin....big demand?

Fake uniforms imply counterfeiting for profit...
unless there is a high margin and big demand, why bother?

Therefore I would say the vast majority of collectors are safe as they are not buying the Generals, Admirals, KVP outfits, etc.

Other less scarce items like Stasi dark collar tunics are still within the reasonable range.. especially on ebay.de ...200 euros...

there is fake stuff out there... I think most collectors get burned...on the misrepresented item rather than a "fake" item

I don't believe the DDR/NVA has the economic appeal of other militaria fields....

There are specialised companies in Pakistan that produce military stuff to spec... I have seen their advertising...

As far as the Gowen comments, I think they are self-serving.

Do you know the various companies that make quality ddr uniforms in sizes bigger than the g-60 size?

For the Standard Items I only know about the Winter BDU's and the Felt Boots to be reproduced as there is a demand as Work Dresses like for Farmers etc.
At least the Suits have a well known German Dealers Label inside, but with standard sizing, not the different GDR adddings like k,m,g or -0,-1 etc.

I remember that I saw a Generals Cap recently, with the old style bullion Cap badge and Soldiers Fabric for the Body.
The Cap Badge was a polish made Copy.
Funny, as the same seller also offered the red Fabric in pieces for sale.
