    Volksmarine senior officer tunic 1969

Here is a nice Volksmarine senior officer tunic from which I wanted to share the pics with you

    Very nice one Olivier!
I am surprised that it has buttonholes at the lapels. Mine doesn't. But then mine was a late production one with no insignia at all...
I use it as a blazer in everyday life...

      Olivier,

Early era Volksmarine clothing is particularly hard to find and come by.
That is a really nice find.
Did you by chance also have the good luck to get the pants with it?

        Thanks for your comments !!
I was lucky : the seller gave very little info on this one and when I asked what the markings were, he replied there were none... I guess he did not check inside the breast pocket since modern tunics are marked above the same pocket... but from the picture I suspected it to be an early one... I decided to have a chance on it... and here it is !
No pants Mike ! I already have 1972 dated ones that I got with the other 1961 dated tunic I got from ebay !

          When luck sticks onto you...
Here is a Volksmarine officer tunic I have been waiting for more than a month... the seller had paid German inland post instead of international... I thought the packet was lost... and finally here it is...
The ebay ad said nothing on the markings... and when I opened the packet, I 1st realised the fabric quality : thick and slightly wooly... then I checked the markings... 1962 !!!!!!!!!!! woooow !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two breast pockets inside... the shoulder boards are wolly type too !!!!!!!!!!!
Hope to keep on having such luck for long !!!!!!!!!

              Olivier,

These early VM Tunics are very rare and scarce articles to acquire. That you are able to get them without realizing what it is until you have it in your hands is remarkable.

I hope some of your luck rubs off on other collectors on the Forum.

Great looking VM Tunic - Congratulations.

The boards are made of wooly fabric and are flexible ; the lace is blue with metallic ends... and the button is different from the ones I have seen so far... it has no hollow back like other buttons you can see elsewhere...
