    NVA-Fallschirmjäger

Just thought I'd show this drawing I made last night. Comments are welcome!

    Hello Magnus,

Excellant rendition and drawing of a DDR NVA Fallschirmjager.
You have quite a tallent for making drawings and sketches.

Did you come up with this from the top of your head, or did you have a photo/picture to look at, or some other source from which the sketch was conceived and then made?

I drew the beret and rifle while looking at a sketch by Ronald Volstad. The rest is completely free-hand.

You have a great tallent. If you shold choose to do more DDR / NVA in the future, I think it would be worthwhile to create a thread on the forum for your drawings.

            Well done Magnus!!
I am very impressed. you obviously have a great talent. I had tried doing something myself and had always found the Strichtarn a serious obstacle. it never came out right. You have done wonderfully instead.
One question: is the soldier with Berlin in the background meant to be in Ausganguniform? I believe so as he is clutching his Ausweis to get out of the barracks. In that case he would have worn shoes and not boots. But I do know from what you have confessed to on another forum that this uniform (black collar and boots) is what you wish to acquire...
Do you draw the things you wish to find for your collection, in the same way that prehistoric men drew the animals they wished to kill hunting? Is this a votive offering to the gods of DDR collecting? I am sure they will smile on your dedication. I am not the one to preach in that respect as I build 1:35 models... all in NVA livery and I am at least 20 years older than you...
Incidentally, at Beltring I have seen black collar Manschaften uniforms for ******163;15. The cheapest I have ever seen them.
