I was awarded the Schutzensnur for qualifying with small arms while attached to a German unit in 1989. I currently have my orders, but do to a move have lost the rope and emblem in silver. I have been desperately searching to replace it. The braided rope is a grayish blue with an oval silver emblem with the falcon embosed (emblem is plastic). The Schutzensnur is the standard German Army marksmanship badge and comes in bronze, silver, and gold. The cord is the same color only the emblem color is different. I have been on the internet, I've contacted the German Embassy here in the U.S. with no luck. I am planning on entering the reserves and really would like to get it back. Any help, and I mean any help would be greatly appreciated in locating or procuring on of these. Till then the hostage crisis continues.

steigjw,
You need to concentrate on "German" ebay ( ebay.de ).
I have the blue one in gold (Got it in Rostock immediately after it was converted to a West German Naval Facility). The bird by the way is an eagle.
These (the gray and the blue) appear for sale on ebay.de quite often. It you watch closely, eventually you will have an opportunity to get one.
