K43 in use with the Volkspolizei

    K43 in use with the Volkspolizei

    I've had this VoPo marked K43 for a while, and am actually auctioning it off over at gunbroker right now.....but has anyone ever seen a picture of these in use after the war? I have never been able to find one.

    oh, and can someone tell me why this forum is backwards compared to nearly every other forum out there? I have to go to the last page of the thread to read the first post? Then read from the bottom of the page upwards? Is there something I can change in my settings so when I click on a topic the first message I see is the first post, the second the second, third the third and so on? I've toyed with the "display modes" but I dont' seem to see a standard view mode like 90% of all other forums out there. Just a curious/annoying thing I've noticed while reading different topics the past few months.

    There was an early West German propaganda booklet about Wehrmacht-equipment used by the East Germans. I'll try to find it and post a pic.

      To the upper right is a tool bar with different options. One of them will flip what you are seeing around.

      Just an observation: The Posts on the different Forum threads actually are from most recent to last. So it is your system that is reversed. But I think if you toggle the different options at the upper right corner, you will find one that will let you see what the rest of us are seeing.

      I hope you find that you like the Forum and stick around.

          That's what I mean, that is what I see too. It's bizarre to click on a thread and the first thing you read is not the first post, but the final one.

            nice rifle...looked at the pics a couple of times, but I could not see any VP markings? I probably just missed them...where on the rifle are they? Cheers, Torsten.

            PS: I actually have my settings as the most recent posts on the top and the first post last in the threads and definitely prefer it that way...but as Michael already pointed out...this setting can be changed in one of the tool bars on the forum...

              Vopo Proofmarks

              Torsten,

              If you look closely on the close up photo of the rear sight, look just below the sight and you will see various proofmarks. On the left side, next to the waffenampt stamp (spread eagle with three digits underneath) there is a faint outline of what appears to be the sunburst proofmark associated with the Volkspolizei. On the right hand side, there is another proof, but I cannot make out what it is.

                  thank you very much guys....I had not noticed that...surprised that they did not stamp over the Waffenamt eagle to denazify it..? Cheers, Torsten.
