    very confused-nva-wach-regiment

    hello people,i have recently purchased 2 nva-wach regiment tunics..

    the tunic on the right is from gowen militaria,the one on the left from ebay,the gowen one is marked "L" for 1987 and the other tunic "i" for 1982.

    as you can see the cuff titles are at different heights is this normal?
    both tunics have the same stitching to the cuff titles ie same pattern,also the tails of the cuff titles go into the tunic

    i can see no tampering with the lining of the tunics,but i just dont know what is original or not anymore

    ps.oliviyaya you bought the engels tunic from the same seller as i got the wachregimet tunic from mr palermo is his ebay id

    Hi again,... the height has been a very confusing matter to me as well until I learnt that if the rule was 13cm from bottom edge, for NVA and Engels WachRgt, some differences could occur. Your lowest title is sown in the Stasi style, touching the cuff piping. And I have a Stasi tunic
    (and also heard of other stasi tunics) with a title sown in the NVA & ENGELS way... so this should not worry you too much...
    If I were you, I would check the sleeves inside lining seam

    I have bought a tunic from the same seller as you have noticed... it is not here yet but will let you know when I have checked it. Before byuing it I have of course asked the seller to check the sleeves inside lining seam and he said everthing was okay... let's wait and see...

      The Grenztruppen tunic I have has its cufftitle sewn on the same spec as the first wach regiment cuff title that you have. I do not know enough about the specifications of how they are sewn on, but just pointing out the tunic I have compliments your first image of the cuff title.

        olivyaya, i have checked both tunics sleeve lining and they are both untouched,which is a bonus i suppose,i was under the impression that NVA-WACHREGIMENT cuff titles were sewn on all the same ie regulations would stipulate what height the cuff title should be

        im pleased with both tunics,but was just totally confused by the difference in height,my f-engels tunic which i also got from gowens has the cuff title as per the first nva-wachregiment picture ie higher up,also i should recieve my f-engels and nva wach regiment trenchcoats this week

        olivyaya..please can you inform us when your tunic arrives from mr palermo

            The Regulation say's 13 cm from the rim of the lowest point of the Tunics arm.
            But as they, mostly, were made by regimental or civillian taylors and not the factory, there are differences.
            All OK.
